The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who advised him that the gear shift needed to be repaired. His vehicle was purchased at the end of last year and currently has over 18k miles on it. A few days ago we had snow and I went to engage the 4x4 I pressed 4h and the light blinked and nothing happened. My payments are where I wanted them to be and I was happy when I left. You have to be very careful running ground wires, you can do that but make sure you only use the main grounding mounts, not just a sensor ground wire, you can also run separate ground to each of the points you find from a reliable grounding point, but make sure you have a ground and not a sensing wire or power feed, 12 or 5 volts, or it will cause expensive damage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I have replaced the acuator motor twice and still keep having a problem. I couldn't find anything, but the truck did start to drive again; a little ways down the road, it started again. Then it happens also in 3rd gear but lighter than the hit on 2nd gear. I pressed the auto 4 and the light blinked but never engaged. The car stalled in center lane of a six-lane highway due to fuel gauge misrepresenting fuel level.
I have had it rebuilt twice and it keeps going out. This is a major issue since the assembly line and needs to go into full recall regardless of mileage or how many years since it was manufactured. This system can set a number of codes! Once out on the road I tried the 4h and auto thinking I needed to be moving but still the same problem. That's about 11 quarts stop.
