No, I'm not shrinking my data, because the data used on the source drive is less than the destination drive. However, migrating your Windows installation to a small disk must be more complicated, because the data won't necessarily all fit on the new disk. Or will it be something more involved? I didn't format the target drive at all before cloning, light straight out of box new, it was recognized by my cloning software, and i cloned because I assumed the clone would be formatting it? Check the startup settings as in situation 1. I did swap the hard disk and when I turn on the laptop I am unable to boot to windows. I am not copying the Recovery partition during any of this. I tried some of the defualt options like a few of the files in the windows boot directory but none worked. However, you take out disk 0 and connect it to Computer B. When you removed that hard drive and it's recovery partition, you would not be allowed to boot.
